So within the last month my idle has bee. Acting weird at times. Sometimes when the engine is cold and sometimes after I've been driving for a while. Today was the worse incident with it so far. I through it into neutral and the car stalled and when I started it which took 5-10 seconds of cranking the idle kept going crazy going up and down to the point where I had to give it gas so it didnn stall again. Also, there have been times where I take the key out and the engine will keep running for a few seconds. My car is an 07. I have seen some things with bcm being bad in reference to the key problem and have seen people getting reflashed for idle problem. Im hp tuned though so if they did that would I lose my tune? Someone else also said bad fuel pump. Does anyone knowledgeable know what's going on?

messed up idle at start up is most likely caused by your evap solenoid to the right of your valve cover. Its a $30-40 part.



the key part i don't know

 

So your saying when you turn the car off, the motor still runs. This is called dieseling. This could happen for a number of different reasons. Is the CEL (Check Engine Light) on? Lets start there first.

 

^^^^ Definitely agree. Sounds like your engine is dieseling afterwards. Sounds like you might be running really rich. You might want to have someone check out your tune.

 

im throwing a p0171 which is system lean bank one i'm also throwing a misfire in cylinder one code and a evap code which is like p01496 or something like that. Someone above mentioned purge solenoid which is what the evap code and probably the reason for the fucked up idling so ill check that cus dealer wont cover my car anymore. The dealer also told me that the engine running after I take the key out may be caused by my subwoofer remote wire being tapped into the fuse box. My car isn't running too rich. I have a wideband and have had the car hp tuned so I'm pretty sure I can eliminate that factor. Pretty much I need to check the solenoid and the remote wire.

 

Replace that EVAP solenoid its a common problem on these cars I always see people on here having problems with it. Its most likely the cause of the mis fire and other ****.
