mileage issues

i seafoamed my car on monday and my mileage has dropped significantly since 32-33 to 27-28. what would cause this?

yes i changed my plugs, gapped them .040 then changed the oil with royal purpel full synthetic high performance. this is the first time i have used this. i am driving like i normally would or atleast trying to but it is starting to bug me that is has dropped this much because that means there is a problem somewhere

Did you also change out the air filter or clean the element if you have aftermarket intake that could cause your decrease in mileage.

i switched to an oem k&n filter but that was several months ago.

what is the diffrence. i live in the desert here and it normally hovers around 32 or so at very low times except when we get weather from the north then it is 9 to 18 and 18 is the high.

Additive content vs Gas content is the difference or some such nonsense(or RVP, depending on who you want to believe). And price! lol But you will always see a mileage drop during the colder months when they switch from summer to winter blend. Usually not as significant as 5 mpg though.

"Environmental Protection Agency says conventional summer-blend gasoline contains 1.7 percent more energy than winter-blend gas, which contributes to the summer blend’s slightly better gas mileage. "

i think i might have changed my plugs wrong. i didn't torque them but i did gap them. didn't have any anti seize so i didn't put that on there either. is there anything else i needed to do?
