Misfiring in 5th gear? Not really sure whats wrong with my car.
I have a 2006 SS super charged with chevy stage 2 kit. I was driving up a long 7% grade highway hill the other day in 5th gear going about 80 so I was running about 3000ish rpms. All of a sudden I had to floor the car to keep the speed up (which i have never had to do up this hill) and then the car started jerking like I was messing up the manual or like it was misfiring. Has anyone had this issue before. The repair shop wants to start out by changing the spark plugs, any ideas?
Spark plugs might help. What you should have done is downshifted to 4th. Never go full throttle in 5th unless your doing like 110+. It puts a ton of strain on the car. Personally I wouldn't do anything unless it start acting up all the time.

I had the spark plugs replaced. The problem still exists I have also found it only occurs when you stomp the gas or going up a hill, but it doesn't matter how hot the engine is. It will still happen even if the I have just started the car.
I was gonna guess your clutch was slipping and grabbing but if the rpms aren't jumping that's not it. Have you checked to see if your intercooler pump is still working? It's common for those to fail on the supercharged ss
It happens every gear except first. At the time I noticed the supercharger read like 13-14 which seems pretty high for normal driving. I had them scan it for codes and only one showed up which was "P0171 fuel trim system to lean bank 1." Thanks for all the suggestions! Unfortunately I can't have the car looked at agin till Monday so I am hoping it will get resolved then, but hopefully all the ideas will help narrow it down.
Well if boost is normal and you are getting the p0171 code, then I'd almost bet you are getting knock retard and that's making the car feel sluggish because it's pulling timing. You might have a leak in your air intake somewhere after the MAF causing it to run lean
