Moderate to Hard Acceleration issue
Moderate to Hard Acceleration issue
Ok gang, I have been away from the forums for a while. Budget issues required that I pull the plug on my phone, TV, and internet services. I back now for a bit.
I am having a really bad hick up or sluggish acceleration problem in my 05 SC SS. When I accelerate onto the freeway and the RPMs hit 4000 the motor starts to lunge and pop like the rev limiter is kicking in. It does this in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear.
I took to the dealership and the said they could not find anything wrong with it. I would swear it is the rev limiter, but they said they program was good. They said they drove it and it ran flawless. I picked the car up on Monday and as soon as I hit freeway it started.
I need some ideas here, the car has 45000 miles on it with a Stage 2 SC kit and a K&N Typhoon intake. The exhaust is a GMPP Touring.
I'm at a loss here. Any ideas and help would be great.
Thanks guys and gals,
Gunny

Unfortunately there is no easy answer, it really needs to be diagnosed with a Tech II or other scan tool.
Almost sounds like it could be a misfire, which has many possible causes.
Bring it back to the dealer, and insist on taking the technician for a ride. This is usually what is done when a customer has a complaint that the technician cannot duplicate, and it usually yields good results.
