more body roll?

im getting a new steering column and already had the i shaft and steering rack replaced for other reasons but im now noticing a lot more body roll then i did before. would sway bar end links effect that? I push down on the struts and they bounce back and hold any clue?

Check to make sure the front sway bar is still attached. Would not supprise me if it was not, endlink bushings could be dead also.

Maybe they installed a steering rack with a quicker steering ratio. The same steering input would equal more tire movement. You could be pushing the car more and thus feel more body roll. The TC has a different steering ratio than other Cobalts.

Would be my guess, steering feels better now that everything is tight so you push it harder Time to upgrade the arb's?

arb = anti roll bar, also known (not quite correctly) as sway bar.

The ones on the SS's are not too bad but they are tuned for the "average" north american driver, ie: understeer at the limit.
GM's lawyers are so afraid of the lawsuits they would be getting if they made a car that could be provoked into oversteer too easily.
Adding more roll resistance at the rear as compared to the front will allow the car to turn in better entering the corners but go too far in the rear and it can get a little tail happy. Find the right balance and these little suckers can haul some serious ass on a roadcourse / auto-x
