is my car broke?

i think my cars broken. whenever i put the pedal to the floor it cuts out a little and lunges when it get higher in the rpms like it still isnt warmed up, even when its been running for 30 minutes. also its tuned to 24lbs and its only holding at about 21. im thinking these two things go hand n hand but im not sure...guys at the gm dealership did a scan and said everything was A OK. but its clearly not. all the charge piping and intake hoses seem to be good. any ideas?

Go get the car logged to see what is going on. Could be an air leak in the intake system somewhere, could be a bad coil pack, could be bad plugs, could be a fuel problem, could be a piston problem, could be a valve problem, etc... etc....

Yea.. Why are you spraying soapy water on your intake.. It will be sucked in if you have leak not blown out.... Use a safe carb cleaner type of solution, if your rpm pick up you have a leak.... The soapy water would be good to check your exhaust manifold and pipes....

What kind of gas are you using? Why are you referring to it as "winter gas"?

yeah winter gas can cause some knock ...not sure it would cause what you are talking about though.....unless u are getting a bunch of knock and it's pulling timing.

BAD gas could i guess if it had a bunch of water n junk in it, ive seen this in a couple a cars but they normally sputter at idle pretty bad as well.

Check your vac lines with carb cleaner like was mentioned.

Datalog to cause it could be in your tune.

Custom tune or gm stage tune?

Check plugs, air filter, and fuel filter. You can try cleaning the throttle body too.

Definitely get a log to see what's going on. My 05 has the same symptoms and it's the coil packs, but high RPM sputtering is a fairly generic symptom, it could be a lot of things.

do you have any CEL's? Are you tuned via hpt, superchips or trifecta? Did you check that jesus im running on 2 hours of crap sleep, the vacuum boost tank thing or a ripped bpv? sounds like it could be a nasty tune, spark plugs (but it should throw a cel with plugs or a coilpack), or that boost tank thing.

If you guys are supercharged (like me) running that much psi, I would look into getting a boost reference fuel pressure regulator. To have it run best you would have to tune for the new regulator but it will help some just installing it. Our cars stock regulator has issues compensating for boost over 17 or 18 psi. The new regulator will add fuel pressure in high boost situations. Check it out on the zzp site. I have one and it works good for me.

uhh im not sure what tangent you guys are going off on, but when it breaks up like that in high rpm's the most likely culprits are spark plugs or coil packs.

Odds are its under warranty, I would take it back to the dealer, and have the tech ride along with you, while you demonstrate the problem. If they are saying theres nothing wrong, then they arent witnessing your problem. Have the tech ride along with you, show them the problem, and theyll take it from there.

i took it to the dealer already and the guys said they didnt see anything wrong with it. but as mentioned ^^ a bad spark plug or coil should throw the cel. and its been like this for about 3 months so i dont think a tank of bad gas was the problem.

ok if its hptuned... the dealership isnt going to be able to tell u too much... they are only going to look at sensors n such, not actually go out and data log ur car...
ur car needs data logged and the tune reviewed....

oh btw i had mine in at a dealer because it ran like crap, and was supper sluggish when i drove it and the exhaust had changed tones...
they said it was fine no problems....
i had a clogged cat.....but it wasn't throwing a cell...don't think they put a whole bunch of effort into it...
they probably checked for tsb's and checked for any cells, set in the car for a couple of min to see if it seemed like there was a issue, then pulled it back outa the shop and told you it was fine.

hopefully they didn't find a tsb and update your computer with it, overwriting your tune...
"not unheard of at all"

Alright so I put the stock intercooler back on and everythings good now. There's not a scratch on it so I'm trying to figure how it got damaged.. well..that's a pretty expensive bummer.

You put back your stock intercooler? What do you mean? Stock heat exchanger? went back to single pass from dual pass? what is back to stock?

looks like ur mpx had a hole in it... either that on one of the elbows or something that connects it up to your charge pipes.
