What you see is what happens to the oil when its mixed with a lotta pressurized air. My money is on a shot ring land, I've seen this before.

Yeah, it was my car. Cyl #4 had less than half of what it should have had, and what the other 3 cyls had.

If you do go back to the dealer, try a different one, or request to be present.

I don't know if a dealer would seriously lie about something that serious, but they might just be trying to save their ass from doing motor repair, or save money from a new motor.

Yeah, lots. It clogged up the spark, caused a blinking CEL and drove horribly bad. (Basically didnt run, but I forced it home). But I must of put 400 miles on the car when I knew I blew the ringland. Are you getting air puffing from the dipstick when the car runs?

I don't know where you live, but if you're local to New Orleans you can borrow my Snap-On leak down tester to pinpoint the exact problem - that is, if you don't trust the shop to do it right. I wouldn't. You'll need a compressor though.

hmmm my plugs looked fine though. They did say that for some reason the cyl 1 plug had no gap. but they replaced all the plugs. and none were fouled or oily.... just normal.

hmmm i dunno ill drop it off on Monday again and see how long it takes them to fix/figure it out. just got it back they had it for over a week.

Yeah, when I noticed I first started having issues, my plugs were fine. It was driving it as much and as hard as I was that started the oil getting to the plug. I don't know why a compression test would take em a week. It takes 15 minutes. But I know how it is not to have your car, I am up to 6 months now.

Do leak down test. Blown 4-banger's car had 4 plugs that looked great, but when the leak down test was put on he showed 80% leakage in cylinder #4.

That really sucks. What was it at the dealership for and where is it leaking from? Perhaps they didn't install the oil filter cap right or something stupidly simple. (not sure that would actually cause that to happen or not, but just trying to get the stupidly obvious out of the way)

it was at the dealership b/c the dipstick kept popping up, then they replaced the gaskets and it must have done it right after i left (when i got on the highway) and the dipstick sprayed oil for 20 minutes until i got home. so im guessing it coming from the engine bay... but it looks like ALOT, so im going to doublecheck the level again tomorrow, call the dealership and ask if they want me to drive it or tow it.

but its lowered so they cant use a flatbed such a pain in the ass, i just want to drive a car lol

Yeah if you keep kicking out the dip stick you probably lost a ringland. What do you have for mods? I see your sig says "Stage 2 coming soon".

it was a 2.7 pulley but when the dipstick popped on the dyno (4th gear pull from what i hear this is the gear things go wrong lol) we tuned it down and its been doing it ever since. but its stock now, for dealership purposes and i plan on staying there now...

60's i was on an intense tune, then a DOC tune, which ran great. (doc and I)we threw it on the dyno to see if we could squeeze some more out and on the 2nd 4th gear pull we went agressive and the dipstick popped... also had cobra h/e and intake installed....

popped at around 135mph around 5500rpms i think

tuned it down and it still did it... reverted back to stock, took it in, they replaced gaskets, its still doing it so...

if its covered its covered if not its not, but ill give it to them b/c im going to have the dealership do the work regardless...

When they open it up and see the broken ringland they will most likely say that it was over boosted and non-warranty. Be preped for the labor bill.
