btw yes I know that is a complete dramatization and wouldn't actually happen like that.[/QUOTE]

actually my service department said that I could drive my car just to make sure that I keep filling the coolant up and they would purge the system for me. I've lost 3/4 of the fluid in the fill neck in about 24 hours. They also said nothing would happen to my car if I did run out of coolant......

Anyone know how long the laminovas in the SC are? There is a guy on ebay selling a lot of 13" laminovas for 49$ each.

that's 90% of the time the car is in operation.

yeah, trust your service dept. ha ha ha. I still wouldn't want coolant running into my engine. And I know how high IAT's can get on these cars with a working intercooler system. Yeah running around a little wont hurt, but if you get caught in traffic those IAT's w/o intercooler system working are going to be dangerously high. Plus running your I/C pump without the coolant COULD burn out your pump, which MAY use said coolant to cool itself. (EDITED CAUSE I'M NOT SURE) I know you wont actually race anyone with the car like that, I was just joking about that part. But you can't really control whether or not you get stuck in traffic. Just my .02, take it for what its worth.

yeah it will cut timing when IAT's get too high but that doesn't guarantee they wont continue to go up. This is something they should be giving him a rental for though.

I'm just trying to say, he shouldn't drive it if he can avoid it, and should definitely take it very easy when he does.

well the way he is saying it was like a bunch of coolant is going into the cylinder which would be a very bad day. and the nozzles for the meth make it a mist and it is in small amounts

Meth is pretty much vaporized before it even gets through the SC

i understand but were talking like a big amount of coolant going into the motor, and then a small amount of methanol going in.

well it has to go through the head, how else could it get into the combustion chamber

i advise you drain all the coolant out of the system and take it easy on the car. drive easier than a grandma

service says it's a slow leak. they obviously don't know much. In 48 hours it's drained about 3/4 of the coolant in the neck
