Need Help! Cobalt Down

i was coming home tonight on he highway just going with traffic when these idiots went flying down cutting people off i dunni if they were racing or what but long story short they cut me off about ran me into a concrete barrier. i down shifted and slammed the brakes but i down shifted to wrong gear by accident when my foot slipped off the clutch pedal. pretty sure i floated the motor. Its blowing pressure back out the oil neck on the valve cover. does that sound about right?? is there a way warranty would still cover it, car only has 25,000 miles on it? need help fast

i should add i dont have the sc injectors in yet nor the spray ever hooked up, only running with an airbox mod and exhaust as of right now.

I would definitely return airbox to stock if possible before bringing it in. I can hear it now... "Well, the modified air intake seems to have let too much air into the engine causing it to (insert random car phrases designed to confuse you)!"

i dont have a stock airbox though to return it to stock, and no i didnt get a chance to get the other cars info, was just to fast happening. i thought there was a thing that they had to prove the modifications would have caused it to happen.

Not sure if you can reset those logs....
but that would likely be worse
because then youd have to explain why they are erased.....

good point. i mean i dont care if they have to check it but i did track it a while back i didnt know if that will show or not. or highest speed i hit before. i dont usually drive it hard either, i always maintain it before oil life needs it, i meani take care of the car pretty damn good. i just dont want to get screwed in the end from them.

I dont know, but i dont imagine it would have a very long term memory....

Someone else with more knowledge on our ECMs will have to chime in.

No reset.. Even if you could.. The fact that no log was there... would be suspicious.

P.S. Don't forget that the warranty is to protect you from their mechanical problems... Not to get you a new motor because of something you did.. They reserve the right to decide. They will be very reluctant to fix anything, especially if you have "painted the Rims" and god knows what else they will see.

Definately busted something up. I would just take it to the dealer and be 100% honest. And make sure you dress nice, don't look like a street racer, wash/clean out your car, etc.

sounds more like an insurance issue to me. They'll probably know you weren't racing or abusing the car from the logs, but they'll probably be able to tell you mis-shifted. Sorry to say but warranty doesn't cover driver error. Who knows, maybe you'll get a very caring service manager. Tis the season?

Your best bet would be to file a report ASAP. Provide info on the other cars. That way it'll be alot easier to go the insurance route if you have to. You may have already waited to long to file a respectable statement, but you could always lie and tell them it just happened and you limped back home.

thanks guys i hope something is able to be done though. i really didnt know the insurance route but i guess anything is worth the try.
and as for the tracks, i used a crossing and lined up on them and then drove out on them, but it was on a storage track so no train would have been coming.
