Need serious help
Need serious help
Here's the story,
Car is 2006 Chevy cobalt ss sc
I just put on bad-mab headers and 3 inch downpipe with high flow cat (zzp). I started it and it sputtered and revved for about 10 secs then the check engine light came on. I had the codes read and there were 12....most were codes for the upstream and downstream O2 sensors...one was something for the evap canister circuit failing...one was for volume of air to high circuit failure. Advanced auto parts told me the air one was the mass airflow and all I had to do was clean it.
I had the codes deleted and then two popped up right away. They are
P0102
P0443
I found it weird no 02 codes came up this time.
I have an Injen intake...had it for 5 years with no probs.
I cleaned out the MAF sensor and unhooked the battery to reset computer....did the same thing...started revved and the light came on. I have to get an inspection for emissions (Massachusetts) at the end of the month and im trying all I have to get this check engine light to go away.....can someone please help with ideas or solutions......thanks

For the 102 code: Is the MAF Sensor wiring OK? It's connected properly, and no obvious breaks in the wiring? When I have had this before, it was because I left it unplugged while putting things back together.
For the 443: I've heard people have problems with the 443 code before, and it was the purge solenoid itself. Make sure it is connected electrically and the vac lines are not loose. If it is sticky, it can mess up your fuel trims. In fact, some of the LNF guys unplug the solenoid and deal with the code, rather than the fueling issue (see the LNF performance section on here). Disconnecting it might make it run, but if re-connecting makes it stall again, you probably found your issue.
I'm hopeful that you will find something loose/disconnected somewhere and all will be good.

I took out the MAF and cleaned the hell out of it lol. Still throwing the code. I don't really knowq where the purge solenoid is. I would unhook it but I need the check engine light off to pass inspection. Maybe if I replace it?? Someone said that the O2 sensors are prob messed up from the aftermarket exhaust and making everything mess up.
