no 2nd 4th or reverse

was at the drag strip today which was a pretty good day except my 13.8or 9 second pass got ruined when i hit a brick wall while shifting from 2nd to 3rd. then when it came time to turn around I noticed no second gear. and none of the other gears on the down throw... does anyone have an idea of what happend?

I'm waiting for the engine to cool befor i can get in there and actually look but is there some sort of diaphram or anything like that i may have blown.

I wonder if the dealer ship is going ot give me a bunch of **** about my short throw shifter.

Thank God, I was about to wish you well with your battle with the stealership.

I think some people have popped off their cables when using the short throw. Just a matter of putting them back on...is that what happened?

sort of... on top of the trans the cables have similar ends to the ones you see inside under your cup holder. it's a hard plstice sleeve held on by a rubber condom of sorts. well the plastic end broke of some time and started causeing the cable to be put in a little bit of a binde. in todays events it got put so much into a binde that it yanked the hard plastic piece out of it's carrier and the rubber part out of it's groove. leaveing me capable to pull the cable but not push it. I don tthink there is any way the dealr can justify not fixing it cause of my shifter. so I'm not gonna take the B&M off. if they dont want to fix it then I'll take it off and take ti to the other dealer.

trust me i fought it for 2 weeks...theyll blame it on the shifter and imho it is the shifters fault even tho i argued it wasnt and got it fixed...i realized it later on further review it is the shifter...take it out...i went in another time after it broke the second time with a stocker and didnt even get questioned.

basically the cable over extends in 1/3/5 and the shift arm slams into the cable end in the rubber and literally snaps the guide piece in half and then the cable isnt supported and u miss 2/4/R

Trust me...take it out.

Dan

I have the same thing but its really hard to put it in 2, 4, and R its your shifter and the part is on backorder so you would have to wait to get the parts (10-15 days) hope you get luck
