ive been having problems with my 06 cobalt ss/sc. i was on the freeway when i was going to shift from 3rd to 4th gear i noticed that it would grab, i tried down shifting and i noticed that my 2nd and reverse werent there either. ive only had this car for a month, sorry if somebody already posted this but can anyone please help. my car is stock so i dont know what could have caused this. could it the linkage?

 

I would say the linkage isn't adjusted correctly. Pull your shift boot up and make sure that both links are clipped on the shaft.

 

u have a B&M? if so take it out and take it to the dealer...sounds liek u snapped ur shifter cables

 

Agreed...used to see tons of posts on this, but havn't seen a new one in a while.

 

aight thanks guys ill just take it back and have them check it out. i just hope i doesnt take them for ever to fix.

 

The common thing on these forums is the roll pin breaking. One person on here has had his break multiple times, now, with similar symptoms to yours.
