I've been having an issue with my car that hasn't gone away. It's actually seemed to have gotten worse. A lot of times taking off or going from 1-2, sometimes even 2-3, my car will buck really hard. It feels like im getting off and on the throttle, but my foot is in the same place on the accelerator pedal. If I let off and then on the gas again, it goes away and is completely fine. It's a bitch, and sometimes it gets so bad from the 1-2 shift that the tires will start chirping with each blip of the throttle (again, my foot hasn't moved and is giving the same amount of gas during the bucking.) Is this just the electronic throttle being gay or is there an actual problem with my car? It's done this since new, and the only mod I have is the airbox mod with AEM dryflow. No CEL's. If I rev-match my upshifts and shift very, very slowly it isn't as bad, but theres still some bucking and hesitating. I've put 10k on the car and have had it for 8 months, and i've adapted my driving skills to suit this car, so it's not like I don't know how to drive the car or anything like that. You are shifting at to low an rpm and letting the clutch out to quick.
Try shifting at at least three grand and practice letting the clutch out until you get it smooth.
The clutch seems to grab hard at the top of the pedal stroke and needs to be finesed a little more than most cars Ive driven.

 

I agree. Keep your shifts over 3k and u should be fine.

 

I do keep them over 3k and it still does it. If I shift below 3k I rev-match and it still does it sometimes. Is it really necessary to rev to 3500 everytime before I shift?

 

If it still buckles, i would guess it's a little more serious. I would take it to the dealer.. The electronic throttle could be more forgiving in my opinion but that's what we got. It can't be adjusted so make sure u are able to recreate the bucks. Have them warranty any other little things while you're at it lol. They have to fix it.

 

The best answer would be to let someone at the dealer who has experience with the gas/clutch drive it and see if it does the same thing for them. Even have a friend drive it and see if they get the same thing. It could just be your driving. Mine would buck when I got it but that was me learning a manual. Once I learned how to do it right and what the right mix of gas/clutch was I've never had that problem since.

RPMs shouldn't matter either, I shift my car anywhere from 2250 up to 3000 and it's fine even well below 3k.

 

When you take your foot off the gas in gear does the car jerk or bounce? Ive had this problem for almst a year now and its driving me nuts!
