not even vince can help! help!!!

well i recently put a sc on my 2.2 05 cobalt and im having some issues

p0300 random misfires
p0507 idle air control higher than expected

vince tried his best i guess but still no luck.

the car runs like crap and it idles at 1k rpm with very shitty idle as if its about to die,

idk if a small exhaust leak would cause that

please anyone that can help. let me know.

what throttle body are you using? have you checked all of your wiring? do you have a leak after the MAF? it is a mechanical issue.

As for p0300... check your crank position sensor.

James told me I might have one of these since when I start my car it revs till like 2.5k or so for like a sec or 2 then goes back down to normal. Any idea on how to find out what it is?

Also bluestreaks my car sometimes wants to die down when I stop somewhere. Like it goes to around 500 rpms revs itself (sometimes 2-3 times at a stop) then goes back to normal. This is only when I have the ac off though which I think is weird.

not sure mines only actually died twice and the first time was when I was logging and putting her through hell. Died after the last pull when I stopped at a stop sign. Second time was after racing a bmw and died at a stop sign too lol.

Not sure why its doing that but like I said james told me that he thinks there might be a after maf leak so going to be tearing my car apart this weekend when my ic pump gets here and checking around to see what I can find.

would an exhaust leak where the wideband is suppose to be at cause a rough idle?

You will never get rid of the p0300 code with the trifecta tune. I throw that code everyday but it only does it when idling. When under power the misfires should go away. Maybe just try cleaning the throttle body first because mine was dirty and caused my idle to bounce everywhere especially when I came to a stop. After I cleaned it, that problem went away.

If Vince says there's nothing he can do it should be a mechanical issue. As for p0300 never going away that's not true. I have Trifecta and my car runs perfectly with no codes.

lol. a leak before wideband or at wideband would most likely cause some issues.

lol ive come with a bunch of little details since putting my sc on but im still working on it. Comes with doing things yourself when youre not that mechanically sound. James has told me he didnt know what was wrong many times but weve always worked together and found a solution. Not sure how close you are to him but I woulda said a hpt tune wouldve been better with a tuner that actually cares.

Woulda gone to a professional shop except where I live I would expect my car to be in mexico the day after I dropped it off or to be completely chopped up. I don't know of any shops here that I would trust with installing performance parts which is why I have done everything myself to my car.

I've changed my plugs and done many different gaps with the same outcome. Vince just told me its because the 60s don't idle well on ecotecs and to live with it. I also occasionally get the p0172 code for running rich. And every time I do data logs for him he says everything looks fine and he doesn't change anything.

Yeaim pretty good with cars and tools, but When ur car sounds like **** drives like poop and its ur only car u need it to be in top shape to get around. when Vince says that he can't do anymore or the fact that trifecta is the only tune I can get and there's only 1 person that can red data logs is llludacris and very inconvenient when ur on a time limit. Trifecta opens at 8 and u can send them 5 logs and they'll. Send u one tune a day.. even with people with no starting problem which they say is a priority but they wont send u another tune till 10 minutes before they close. So if that tune don't work ur **** out of luck till the next day..seriously Vince is swimming in money and hasn't showed 1 person how to read logs which I think is ******* selfish..

End..

DISAGREE when i was doing my build vince sent me about 4 tunes in a matter of a day to get my car running right. i even had vince sending me tunes at 10-11pm at night helping me from his home.

EDIT: and i didnt even order my tune directly through trifecta. i went through a 3rd party.

60's are the devil on our cars. however. mine ran awesome. but it may have to do with the fact i was on e85

I'm going from my experience. I guess I'm just gonna say. It depends on your situation. Vince did help me out by narrowing down. problems once a day, ok maybe twice a day

My car seems to run fine any time other than idling. I mean my fuel trims are off but not bad enough to keep it from running. Those of you who said you don't have the p0300 code, what plugs are you running and at what gap? I have run both the 6509 and the 3672, the latter of which I still have and they are gapped to .034.
