Noticing some things with my car!

Well i noticed about a week ago. when i come to a stop in first it seems to bog down and drops to .5 rmps. and then i began to put it in neutral coming to a stop and i just noticed it did it in neutral today. Does anyone know what that would be?

Plus my elecric steering went out and i was going to take it to the dealer but it wasnt doing it anymore than shortly after it began to do it. i checked the battery and it all checks out. Im gonna take it to the dealer some time this week.

Thanks for the help!

what are these "points" you speak of,

FZWCobalt_09 is your car an auto, might be a harsh downshift. ie: problem with trans.

I have that problem in my 2.2

If I stop really quickly the RPMs drop way down to borderline stall for a split second, then come back up to normal

K ill look in to it. i have to take my car to the dealer anyway because my electric steering went out so ill have them check it also. but also my electric steering only goes out after i drive a while? i have check the battery and everything i can think of that would change that but i have never had electric steering before and quite frankly dont know much about it!

RPM flutters are nothing new for the Cobalt, they all do it. I believe there is a flash available that updates the computer & eliminates the issue.

My car was doing the same thing too. Come to a stop, RMP's drop to near shut down, then rise back up again to normal. It's currently at the dealership right now and I'm waiting to get it back. Still under warranty.

I'm gonna be asking alot of questions though, because this (and many other problems *read my past posts*) only started AFTER I brought it in for a simple oil change.

Im at school now but when i get home ill replace it. but when i start it up it will work for a couple minuits and then it goes out. so idk what that would be cuz if it was the actual electric steering then it would not work at all?
