ugh i said twice i dont have a stock downpipe i have zzp's 2.5 dp and the sounds not coming from the cat i was under the car. i've have it on for a month. i would of thrown the code already im sure but i didn't so i assumed everything was good. Cause when I had the cel eliminator on, i got a code for that. so i took it off. or is there a such thing as a cat breaking in? would it take a month for that?

to answer your question about the octane....i would stick with the higher one. its better for your engine and you get better gas mileage.

Didn't read this whole tread but this. hit the cat with something hard and see if you hear anything. It shouldn't sound like pebbles rolling around.

Ok, so it more than likely your cat, I have a friend with a Mercedes and the cat only makes noise when stopping, another with a new charger with slp exhaust these throwing the 420 code on bank 1. All cats can go bad, your best option is to call up zzp and see what their warranty is on the Downpipe and go from there

I use 93 octane. thats premium gas here, we don't have 91, just 87,89, and 93. Owners manual says to use premium gas aka 91 or 93
