Odd Interceptor Gauge Issue

The issue I'm having with my Aeroforce Interceptor is mind boggling.... Just this year, the gauge started showing CEL's in the "display DTC" selection that are not read by my car. I run the GMR S3 PCM/calibration, and the rear O2 sensor check code is removed/turned off via GM. I've run several catless setups over the years, and never had the gauge show the notorious P0420 code. Just recently it started showing P0420. I have no actual cel's on the dash, nor do cel's show up with an actual scan gauge. I contacted Aeroforce, and they have no idea what could cause this. Has anyone on here ever experienced this?

I'm not really concerened, I just want to see if I'm the only one with this gremlin. I've had this gauge installed since 2009 w/o an issue until now.

Mine has developed an issue of it's own and is not that old (6 months maybe). My announciator only works every other power up.
Basically, mine is NOT doing the things it should be and yours is doing things it shouldnt be lol.

i think it stores memory of codes that could have simply popped up momentarily, maybe to have not even triggered your dash

do you clear the codes and it comes back?

I clear it, and it comes back.

The thing is, the P0420 code (or rear O2 sensor) is turned off. It "shouldnt" read anything.

That is why this is soo odd.

Please do.

Because I am sick of my issue.

I have to have it set up so that the lights are on when the coolant is below 160. That way I know if the lights are working when I start the car. My other option on there is the shift light and I hate finding out the lights arent working when I hit the fuel cut...

Yeah, will do.

The lights not working would be annoying. Mine are set up for knock.

yea the CEL thing is a little funky .. hopefully the re flash from aeroforce will fix it.

last year mine would not turn on every other startup for some god for saken reason, i would have to turn the car off and open the door then restart the car and it would boot up.

it must have fixed it self after about 2 months cuz it works fine now ...

ohh another issue i have is that wen i first start the car, the screen is very faint and you can hardly read the numbers, once the car is one for a few mins. it is legible ... i thought it could have been from sitting in the sun all day or something but it does it on cloudy days as well ... idk

Looks like we are all experiencing some minor gremlins with these gauges, haha.

Even in the research before I bought mine I read that they cannot be in the sunlight or in direct heat. Im like "WTF?!?" do they not realize these things are made to be installed in cars?!?!?!?

Are you sure it's 100% erased from the PCM?

I don't know the exact terms and options for it.. but there's different options when you "remove/turn off" a code. The code could come back as a "soft code" in which it would not come up as a MIL, but it would still be in the computer.

Not sure if that's the case in terms of the GMR S3 cal. I'll have to do some reading.

I've run many catless setups over the years, and never had anything show up on my interceptor. Maybe it is just a soft code, I just find it odd that it decided to start doing this after 5 years of owning the gauge, lol.

Staged, did you end up sending your gauge to Aeroforce? I'm curious if they would do anything since the warranty is only one year.

Thanks for the added picture. You def have an odd issue.

I never ended up sending my gauge. I figure it's a soft code, where the PCM recognizes the cat is not there, but the tune is set up to not throw a mil on the dash.

I have the form to send back a gauge for a reflash if you need it.

Let me know. Aeroforce only chargeS $25 for a reflash.
