Odd temps

Odd temps are occuring.

Before, I was having temps between 180-197... But after freeway and going slow after, around 205-212.
Rough estimates here based off what I am used to seeing.

I let the car sit for a while though. Months of no driving. But every month or I would run the engine for a little. Just to keep internals lubed and not build up moisture.

Now, it seems I am over 200 mostly.
Up to 216 degrees.

I have a CAI, a ported tb and catback.

No problems I know of from mods.
i did however did more match porting of the TB on the intake side.

I would say it may have made the temps go up, but... It is doing it at idle too. So, I am not sure.

I checked fuses... Turned on ac and fan comes on. I activated the heater, it is fine. The upper radiator hose seems taught when engine is on and up to temp.

I got the temp to 216 at idle and had the good open. Around that temp, the overfill bottle started bubbling. I shut the motor off shortly after.

Any ideas on what is raising my average on engine temps?

216 is nothing to be afraid of, especially sitting still. The fans dont even start to come on until around that temp.

If you havent done it before, it might be good insurance to put in some fresh coolant with the proper mixture for your environment and replace the thermostat.

If your overfill was getting bubbles at 216 then you need to check your reservoir cap and make sure its actually holding full pressure. Those mods aren't gonna increase temps.

Basic things you can try without spending money:
Make sure your HVAC is blowing uncomfortably hot when you're up to temp. If it's not blowing really hot, then you have some restrictions or air pockets preventing coolant flow to the car HVAC heatercore.

If it is indeed really hot then put it on full blast with the windows down and see if the coolant temp falls off and stabilizes at a lower coolant temp. If the temps fall off and stabilize at a lower temperature then possibly you're radiator is restricted or blocked. Visually inspect the actual radiator for excessive bent fins or literal blockage.
