oil leaking in a weird spot ?

2007 chevy cobalt... 2.2 liter basic model no turbo with only 80000 miles on it... Its been pissin*oil*like crazy.. i finally found out where it is leaking from since it was hard with no engine space Any ways i need help... the*water*pump*feeder tube that runs underneath the*exhaust*manifold*where it connects the*water*pump*to thethermostat*housing... the O RING where the 2 pipes join together on the REAR*thermostat housing*is pissin*oil*like crazy everytime i start it.. My question is is there supposed to be oil in there ? i dont no if this car is different or not but i was thinking definitly just*antifreeze...please anybody i dont want to disconnect everything and replace anything unless i know for sure why there is oil in the feeder tube in the first place*

i dont know how to add a picture but this is the piece i am talking about.... on the left where the housing is where the 2 pipes join together is where it is leaking from. Motor oil btw... not transmissiin fluid

as far as I know there should only be coolant in there, if there is oil u have much bigger problems. does ur coolant res have oil in it? does ur oil have coolant in it? is it milky colored the oil on the dipstick? im thinking its probably the seal on the water pump under the timing chain cover. but could also be elsewhere. take it to shop or if u can do it, don't run it no more and take off timing chain cover and have a look

If there's oil there it's probably leaking down from the valve cover and landing there. Check that first.
