One headlight is very dim

i think I saw someone else with this problem somewhere, but I was driving last night and I noticed a headlight out (that's how dim it is) so I put in a new bulb, and that's when I noticed that there is still a bit of light coming from it. After that I threw in the old one and saw the same thing.

I bought the car after it had been sitting for a while, and I've only had it a few days.
Thanks in advance!

Check the connectors. I had the same issue and the connector was melting because the contacts were worn.

Where the bulb connects? Or where the unit connects about a foot back along the wiring?

So where the whole headlight unit plugs in, I noticed that if I wiggle it the light starts working right again.

I detached them and on one prong the plastic had melted so I assume it wasn't getting a good connection. The plug had a gob of electrical tape around it, so I assume this isn't the first time this happened

Anyway the replacement part is like $40 and that seems kinda crazy for a piece of plastic so I just cleaned it up with a wire brush and tried to do a better tape job then the last guy. Now the lights work but when the lights are on, that sides blinker doesn't work, but when the lights are off the blinker light does work. ( it's slightly dinner then the passenger side ) I'm not sure if this is now a bad connection there too, or if the bulb is just worn out and needs replaced.

I had a similar problem. Tried to clean up the connectors, etc., but it never would make a good connection, and the plastic bulb retainers are easy to break. Replaced the wire harness (3 bulbs), and it now works great.
