Other car Issues!!!!!

My friend has a 2000 chevy impala. the fan wont turn off. even when he turns the car off, it still runs. autozone says it may be a short. also he has a shaking n the front end. i thought it would be the alignment because he had the rotors fixed.

if you know hwat it is i would greatly aprrciate it

thanks

Also check the fuse box under the hood. One of the relays may be fubar.

At what speeds does the front end shake? It may not necessarily be an alightment that's needed, but a wheel balancing, which should be free if you take it to where ever the tires were purchased. If you get on the highway and do gentle left and right turns, whichever wheel is out of balance should vibrate more when it's under load. As my last car started getting up there in miles, I noticed that the wheels needed balancing more and more often.

If the fans run all the time even after the car turns off, that is not normal. If the fans kick on for a few minutes once the vehicle has been turned off, that is normal. There is even a warning label about that on the fan shroud itself. Just about every car out there does it at some point or another. Even if the car is not running, if the water tempurature reaches the point where the fan must come on, they will even if the car is off. I manage a collision center and get asked that all the time.
