Oversteer issue
Oversteer issue
So I'm not sure if this is exactly a problem, but when I'm driving my car often will forcefully coax itself in a certain direction. Not sure if its an accurate description, but say I'm driving on the highway and its a bit windy, blowing from the passenger side towards the driver side, my car will want to go in the direction of the wind, it is NOT mainly because the wind is blowing, but the car almost wants to turn in that direction and I have to hold the steering wheel very firmly to prevent it from happening. It doesn't always happen in windy conditions, it happens in seemingly normal driving conditions. It is hard to pinpoint exactly what causes it.
My question is, is this over steer a problem? I want to know because the 36,000 mile warranty expires on my car in 800 miles lol so I need to know if this is an issue with the power steering, or the LSD (not sure if it could have to do with this at all) and want that fixed under warranty if it is. Thanks for any help.

It's called pulling, not oversteer. Oversteer is when the back end gets loose when cornering.
If you are having this problem while accelerating hard it's called torque steer, get used to it.
If it does it in neutral and always in one direction check your cold tire pressures, if it still does it after setting them all correctly you probably need an alignment. Dealer may do that under warranty, just ask.
If none of the above fixes it you have larger issues, take it straight to the dealer.

I had this problem for a long time, I took it to the dealer for several test drives and overnight stays and they could never find the problem.
Then last winter I managed to run over a buried 4x4 road sign in the middle of a snow storm (it was laying right across the road, some jackass knocked it over and left it there) and long story short, Chevy replaced my sway bar endlinks, and I ended up getting 4 new Hankook Ventus V12s.
Problem solved. Dont know if it was the stock pirellis, or the sway bar endlinks.. but it felt like a brand new car.

The tires can cause this. Its called Radial Force. Assuming you have non-directional tires, swap the wheels/tires from one side of the car to the other. If your car now pulls to the other side, you've found your problem.
