P0087 Help
Hey everyone, just received a P0087 code which reduced engine power. This all happened while driving normal and at a constant speed of 40mph, no accelerating or boosting or high RPMs. The code reads that its low fuel pressure and was wondering what eveyone's thoughts were or if someone else has experienced a similar issue?
Only thoughts for the moment are that the fuel pump could be going out, bad sensor, or plug
Sooo.... Thoughts? any input is appreciated!

I would def check the fuel pump. GM just put out a recall on the fuel pump but for specific reasons. Not saying that is your problem but it is worth checking into. Lastly I would check your fuel filter, and see if maybe it might be clogged. Lastly injectors.. not sure if you have bigger injectors or ot, but I would check those last..

Yes. The fuel pump has nothing to do with you mods, or E85. It is a "known Issue" that is why they are doing the recall. So you should be good, I would go have it checked man just to be safe.

Thanks for your help man. I hope it is a recall because I did get a notice in the mail for a recall on the steering column but not the fuel pump... Hopefully they just do both for me this week..

Yep yep, their is a recall for both. Just let them know whats going on, and let them know of your issue. They have a legal obligation to atleast check it out. If everything is okay then they wont do anything, and at no charge... Let me know what happens.

The fuel pump recall was for it cracking and leaking fuel. You should smell fuel if i was. First change the fuel filter as the E85 cleans the tank and the junk will get stuck in the fuel filter. If you still get the code then bring it in for the steering recall and ask about the fuel pump tsb/recall. If they are gonna charge you then fix it yourself. It could also be a bad hpfp.
