p0303 question

yesterday my car threw the p0303 cylinder 3 misfire code...however the car isnt acting up...i do notice on start ups that if it sits for a little over an hour ya gotta let it warm up and stays at 1500rpm for a few minutes but eventually settles out....anyone know solutions for this and if this would affect fully boosting at high rpm?

The high idle on start ups is normal. I believe that's the catalytic converter warmup cycle or something like that. As for the code, pull the plugs and see how they look. If they've never been changed, might as well go ahead and get new ones. If that doesn't work, try swapping the coilpacks off two cylinders and see if the misfire follows. Those are the easiest things to try first

Hello Bluekid99,

If you have any questions about warranty parameters on your vehicle or what would be covered under different warranties, please feel free to send me a message with the last 8 digits of your VIN and I'll get that information to you. Or, if you do go in for an appointment with your dealership, let me know! I'm available to assist in any way that I can!

this code is a clear indicator of a cylinder #3 issue, either your coil has gone bad or theres a spark plug issue. Possibly also a bad injector, you can move things around such as put in all new plugs first, thats the easiest and lowest cost method. If that doesnt work you can try swapping coils to see if the problem stays or follows the move. If the spark related parts arent making a change try swapping your fuel injectors. If none of these things resolve it, well it may be something internal.

My guess, bad coil, theres some for sale in the classifieds right now, think they are going for about 40 bucks, dealer will prob charge you well over 100 for the part and even more for labor if your not under warranty

You have 39,000 miles on the car and the wheel bearings went out. Are you the original owner?

when i found out it was the plugs it was a huge relief bc ive heard horror stories about major things going wrong and ive only had the car since the beginning of february...im guessing though my car was somewhat worked on or had work done and then was returned to stock bc idk what moron would gap the plugs to .50 plus my lower intake box is stuck in my bumper bc it wasnt attached the the factory intake box and when i put my sri on the box fell in so im assuming it had an intake and i have gaps on my headlighhts where the bumper should be and it doesnt line up so im guessing it had a cai
