P0503 on 2006 LT
So, car picked up a P0503, intermittent vehicle speed sensor code a few weeks back. The hub to car wiring harnesses were replaced (slightly chewed up from the track) and I changed the VSS sensor in the transmission over the weekend, and its still there.
Basically i lose the speedometer, and then the electric power steering warning comes up and the steering gets touchy (since it doesnt have a speed input)
Any other place to look at or do I need to replace my wheel hubs? Hubs are only a year old....

The vss is on the transmission, my car doesnt have hub sensors, those are really only for abs.
Check the harness that goes between the main harness and the trans sensors/o2 sensors. Check for broken wires and maybe corrosion at the connector.

I cleaned out all the harness plugs with contact cleaner and then put some DEOXIT in there to help the connections. Wiring looks okay, the trans wiring is one of the few things that still has been unmolested. i'll crawl under there again this weekend and see if i can find any damaged wires

Replaced VSS sensor, replaced gas pedal. Did not make the problem any better. Harness connector to VSS looks fine. Interesting that this also takes out the OAT display.
havent found any visably damaged wires, anyone else have other ideas? sadly this is keeping us from being able to smog the car, as it wont register drive cycles.
