P1174 Issue, need some recommendations before i take it for inspection.
Just bought this 06 SS 2.4 NA used, unfortunately the car had had no prior maintenance other then oil changes done to it. It had 13 check engine codes when I got it, and the check engine light had been blocked off.
However none of the issues were expensive to fix, nor were they out of my range of ability's to repair (which is endless at this point). I started out with the following codes...
P1174 Fuel Trim Cylinder Balance ECM
P0010 Intake Camshaft Position (CMP) Actuator Solenoid Control Circuit ECM
P0011 Intake Camshaft Position (CMP) System Performance ECM
P0013 Exhaust Camshaft Position (CMP) Actuator Solenoid Control Circuit ECM
P0106 Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor Performance -PCM
P0121 Throttle Position (TP) Sensor 1 Performance -PCM
P0171 Fuel Trim System Lean -PCM
P0300 Engine Misfire Detected -PCM
P0455 Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Large Leak Detected -PCM
Cleared all of them when I got it and the intake cam vvt and MAP were the most persistent codes to return (besides misfire which was just plugs). So the Intake VVT is replaced and working great now, and I replaced the MAP sensor with a new Delphi unit. I threw the following code today...
P1174 Fuel Trim Cylinder Balance ECM
Unfortunately I am at a loss with this one because there are so many scenarios that can trigger this code. I am predicting that it is likely an o2 sensor that is on its way out however it hasnt thrown any o2 codes, but the o2 does have 127k on it. Any other suggestions on what I should look for would be greatly appreciated.
My exhaust cam VVT solenoid will be here on monday, however I dont think that is directly related to this issue. I mean worst case scenario I could have my buddy delete this code with HP tuners, but id like to repair whatever the issue is as a first option.

Same.. Driving 55 mph cruise control and got "ENGINE PWR REDUCED", turned around drove a mile back home, shut it off, disconnected battery overnight, went back next morning, turned it on and it flashed "ENGINE PWR REDUCED", then "ENGINE DISABLED"... pulled off parts from my intake manifold to the filter on my k&n intake, and it's fine I guess.. Pulled P0171 and P1174. any ideas? im nearly done with this car.
P1174 turned out to be leaky fuel injectors, i bought a used set of 50k miles injectors for 50 bucks off twooz and that solved my problem. Your engine power reduced issue you said went away when you disconnected and cleaned your throttle body? IMO id replace the throttle body connector and throttle body if thats the case. You should be able to buy a throttle body connector with a couple inches of wire to splice onto the existing harness. Or at least verify that you dont have a damaged connector.
the P0121 Throttle Position (TP) Sensor 1 Performance -PCM never came back on my car after i cleared it, but i have a feeling that i do have a throttle body related issue, i get a weird surging from time to time that i notice when im heavy on the throttle.
