P7X out of commission

Well tryng to enjoy my vacation but it's tought when your car is a piece of ****. (need less to say im pissed!)

Last night after cruising around with some friends I get to my brother place and notice as I get out of the car that smoke is coming out from under the hood. I quickly pop the hood and WTF see oil EVERYWHERE! . First thing I do is check the dip stick, sure enough the dip stick has come lose and sprayed oil all over the motor. This is the 2nd time in a month and a half. This happens the night before I am to return to kingston. So I take it into the dealer here, to see whats up.

Me at the dealer
10:00 am - WTF dipstick keeps poping out - Weird!
10:30 am - oil filter might be broken - nope
11:00 am - intake gasket is damaged - nope
11:15 am - I leave, call me with what you find
02:00 pm - pressure test and the measuring device gets shot out of the engine bay WOW.
03:30 pm - Dealer tells me that he has seen this before and the problem could be a blown piston ring!!!!!
7 HOURS LATER
05:00 pm - Dealer still is not sure what it is and if it is a piston ring they say the parts wil take "at least a week" to come in. I lose it and tell them do whatever the **** you gotta do get my car fix before I kill someone, the VP of the dealership assures me that it will get fixed ASAP.

FYI I have to be at work monday morning and if im not im AWOL.

I used to believe that if you take very good care of your car and it will take care of you. **** THAT ****! I will never buy another domestic piece of **** and never ever buy the first year of any car. My evo can't come soon enough. FU GM!!!

So how was everyone else's day?

sorry about your car man, if you have to wait over a week for your parts, tell them to give you a rental. they're supposed to provide you a rental if warrenty work cannot be completed. I got a rental when I had to wait for the replacement Cat.
and remember make sure they pay for the rental.

How many km do you have on yours?

I got 45k right now don't have those problems

Go to import fest and tell them it's not a domestic, good luck with that.

It needs more "foreign" parts, GM has this amazing ability to produce crap. I have been a turbo import fan from day 1 and just happened to buy a S/C domestic.

35,500 kms besides the clutch issues which I knew was going to happen I believed that I had a solid engine. Heard all of these problems ppl had and was so happy that mine was running strong....until now!

Thinking about a Z06 as rental hopefully it does blow up.

sorry to hear about the Cobalt. Just to let you know, any car and any brand can be bad luck to some. Just look on the Evolutionm dot net site. A bunch of people have a problem with their lancers/evos and bring them into the shop all the time, while others have no problems. Then there are certain problems that affect everyone, just like the SS/SC. Evo = hose clamp problemo.

I know all cars have there problems but this one has had alota. I have not shared every single lil problems just the major ones.

UPDATE

The brilliant minds at GM have decided to replace my intake manifold and gasket. They are 90% confident that this is the problem. We will see what happens but that still leaves me with our my ride and driving some POS V6 Malibu for a week.

Tell the service manager you are in the military and really need a reliable car. Could he please do everything he can to make sure the car is 100% and to keep it as long as needed to do so. Appeal to their good side without threatening to kill people.

I know it is hard. I have been in your shoes before with a Dodge Avenger. (makes it never another dodge for me.. well maybe other than a challenger some day.)

It sucks you are having these issues. But it will get better man.

To me it sounds like some yahoo put too much damn oil in your care without emptying the huge res we have for oil. 7 quarts for a 2 liter is insane.

I really hope they get this fixed for you. Going without the car sucks especially when it's not your fault.

Buy a Neon if you like the blow head gaskets, replace water pumps and like burning motor oil all day long after 60k miles

Buy a Cobalt if your like me and like 11 page service historys and love spending more time at the dealership then at home.

Sorry to hear about your car. Good luck with it.
