Please recommend a borescope
Hi,
I'd like to keep track of the coking on my valves with a borescope. I'm hoping I can just pull off the brake booster hose in the front of the IM and not have to wrench anything off the engine to look at the valves.
Has anyone done this and can recommend a particular brand of borescope?
I have an old laptop, running Windows XP, that I could plug it into.
Thanks for any help.

You could probably see 3 and 4 with a 5mm scope but 1 and 2 would be tough. I have several over the years and none are that flexible. Some have accessories like 90 mirrors which are great.
I would get a self contained one so you don't need the laptop. Today's LED screens would be much better anyway.

I bought a generic garbage one off amazon for under 20 bucks. It plugs into your phone for the display, and has a button on the flexible end to snap and save a picture to phone storage.
I wasn't expecting it to be worth a damn, but its actually been pretty decent. Definitely sufficient enough to show me what I need/want to see. I'm sure it wont last forever, but if and when it breaks, I'll buy another one for ~15 bucks.

We acutally use this one from harbor freight for the shop. It works pretty good, flexibility isn't great but I haven't had a spot yet that a little moving and wiggling couldn't get to.

I've taken my manifold off many times now and I can honestly do it in under 15 minutes lol. It's too easy. Instead of wasting your money on a borescope, just teach yourself how to take it off
