Guys I'm about to rip my hair out. Ive been trying to figure this out for 2 days. Whenever I turn my key to the on position there is a popping or thumping noise under the passenger side dash. It does it about 4 times then stops. It's about to drive me crazy

ive heard of a popping noise coming from the back of the car which is typically the evap vent solenoid getting stuck, but never from the dash

I always thought that sound was my Trunk Monkey..........

 

It's the right side of my dash. Underneath the glove box it sounds like.

 

blend door actuator

 

100% sure its the exhaust making settling noises as it gets warm. metal contracts and expands as it gets hot. Thats whats happening. You'll notice the noise stops after a while and its only noticeable when you first start the car or shut the car off.

 

Japeater got it. Blend door motor zeroing out probably just worn. They self check every key cycle.

 

metal contracting is a pinging sound though, not popping

 

How hard is the blend actuator to put in?
