Power problems maybe?

So here the past few days I've been experiencing some problems that seem power related. From day one, when I would turn my bass up, my lights would dim like mad, so I'd turn it back down. Well, here lately, when I turn my A/C on with my speakers barely on, my car likes to shut completely off when my RPM's start boucing when I push my clutch in to stop. Often times, when I have my bass up (nothing extreme) on my way to school (about a 10 minute drive) when I get there and park, i go to shut my car off, and when i turn the key it like "dies". my rpm's completely drop, then they slowly come back up to zero and my radio comes back on. ((reffering to when you turn your car off, and your radio stays on till you open your door))

what might be the problem? new battery perhaps? maybe a capacitor will help ? thanks guys.

If your headlights are dimming while the stereo is on you could definitely use a capacitor. Sometimes you can get away with a smaller amp and a smaller stereo without a capacitor but it seems like all your problems are relative to a low voltage problem at the battery. Get a 1.0 Farad capacitor, hook it up inline with the power wire, and charge your battery. It should eliminate the problems you're having.

Sounds like its your alternator or your battery, but I would put my money on the altenator halfwaving because a diode fried in it.
At idle the altenator cant put out as much as your asking for and the car will stall if youve lost a diode
then the problem will be worse.
Have the output of the altenator checked ,if its good then most likey the battery.
