power steering intermittent! HELP ASAP!
So, I just did my front brakes to get rid of the common warping issue(rotors and pads). The reason I mention this first is that the rotor warp was so bad, that every time I'd brake, the steering wheel would shake like a motherf****r.
Now that my steering wheel doesn't shake, for some reason, my power steering is crap....as in, when I turn, it starts out ok, but then goes seriously stiff, then go back to normal. Even on a straight, I slightly turn the wheel, and there is serious resistance. WTF??? I had the recall done quite sometime ago, I'm almost wondering that if it might be what they did? How do I check my rack....what to look for? NEED IDEAS ASAP, as this is not safe to drive.

Sounds like power steering is going out..mine was doing similar stuff then soon after it popped up on the DIC power steering..i never had the recall done so I took it in got it fixed at the dealer
If you have warranty, take it in.But if not
I think its only 2 bolts to replace the steering motor or when you have it out
Take it apart and clean it with electornic cleaner( comes in aspray can)the commutator and brushes and put it back in and try it.
From what i understand thats how most guys fixed it before and doesnt take long .
