Ive searched a bit on here for some answers but no avail. so heres my problem, To make it short my car idle searches. I can stop at a stop light and it will idle search sometimes, It wont all the time it sometimes idles fine, Either that or my car just stalls. Last night sitting in a parking lot talking to a friend my car was idle searching and then stalled, Turned it back on and it idle searches then idles fine. I cant figure out whats wrong.Also the check engine is on. Maybe you guys have had similar prob. Ill list my mods

How did you make out with this Issue?

 

Sounds like you have a big vaccum leak. The engine is running lean do to some kind of vaccum leak coming from something and its causing a random misfire.

 

I would start small...mine was doing the same thing, i took my airfilter out(which wasnt on very well) and cleaned it after that it ran great and havent had an issue since

 

Does it idle fine sometimes, and sometimes not? How much vacuum are you pulling at idle when this happens? Do you ever hear what sounds like a metallic hissing sound? If so, it could be a vacuum leak. I ran into the same with my car, and it was a bad injector insulator. The gray cup-like things that the injectors seat into. You may also want to inspect the O-rings on the injectors themselves, and make sure the injectors cannot rotate freely once installed.

The P/N for the insulators is 12571864.

Another cause could be an exhaust leak where the header mounts to the head. If there is a minor leak, then the exhaust gasses measured at the o2 sensor will not correspond with the air coming in at the MAF, and it will make your idle really suck. Regular driving will be fine because the of the increased gas velocity compared to idle. Just make sure all the header bolts are tightened properly.
