So i just bought this 06 SS, and the car only came with 1 key, no key fob, no spare key. The power locks didnt work because it needed a master switch so up until this point i had been locking the doors manually.

So this morning i fixed the switch problem, new master switch, 9 bucks, problem solved, power locks work fine. So i lock the doors, walk away, about 10 minutes later, i go out to unlock the door with my key, and the alarm starts sounding. So i cycle the key turn the alarm off, try it again, again the alarm sounds when you use the power lock swithc to lock the car, and the security light indicates that it is arming the security system. However if i lock the car manually, no security.

So what the hell is going on here, should I have a keyfob if i have this system and they never gave it to me? Or does the key need to be programmed or what? Key starts the car just fine, it just wont disarm the security system with the key in the door.

Also this problem threw a check engine light immediately afterwards, B2AAA and B2A00 codes. Along with my VVT solenoid issues.
