Unhappy Problems Accelerating!

Very new member of the forums here and I'm glad to be a part of the community! Recently my cobalt has almost no power behind it. When I push down on the gas I get almost no response with power or RPMs but you can hear the engine rev up loud when I push the pedal down all the way. So I went through and changed the oil, replaced the spark plugs, and installed a new 02 sensor and still nothing. A friend of mine recommended checking out the crankshaft position sensor. Any ideas?

What model of cobalt do you have? Miles, mods, CELs?

I have an 07 cobalt ss supercharged. The only mods so far is a zzp exhaust system and a K&N air intake. Miles are just crossing 90,000. The check engine light is on. I'm about to go get it tested by my local auto shop.

sounds like the clutch is slipping if the engine revs up but you aren't going anywhere.

Without knowing the codes it's a shot in the dark.

Are you making boost and going no where or is it making little boost?

It seems to be getting ordinary boost readings

Tester at autosone said there's a code for the crankshaft positioning sensor, is that what would cause this?

Maybe. I'd suggest getting a mechanic to diagnose it.

Just throwing parts at a car won't fix it. Why'd you change the O2? Sounds like wasted money.

I have an appointment to have it checked tomorrow. And the o2 sensor was what I thought was causing my mileage to drop so bad before this started happening but it was not the case unfortunately. On the upside I have a new o2 sensor XD

It's likely the cause, but I agree take it to a mechanic instead of just throwing parts at it.
