Problems Fixed for 2006?

I'm expecting my '06 SS/SC later this month, and i'm curious to hear from other '06 owners about some of the common problems that came up with the 05's. Mostly i wanna know if GM fixed the problem with the coloured inserts bunching up with age and the passenger side door insert coming loose. Thanks

i would think that with most leather vehicles i've seen the leather bunches with age so i doubt that can be completely fixed...

Yes the inserts have been fixed for the 06 models. I know because my inserts were coming loose from the rocker panels on both sides and they just ordered two completely new door liners that were 06 parts. Also the paint chipping has been solved in 06. I guess they decided to use primer this time lol

I was wondering this too. A coworker is selling one of his cars, an '05 cobalt SS/sc, but they are pretty problematic from what I heard so i was going to spend a couple thousand more and get a new '06 to save on the trouble. Does anyone know if theres really a big difference?

The door panel is fixed under warranty, the replacement cup should be out some time this month. The stage kits will make the ECU just as good if not better.

You'll get the warranty if you buy a new one, I don't know if the warranty is transferable for the '05.

some people will tell you there isn't. I think there is. I have to go in at spring time to fix the silver trim pieces around my window and door lock buttons.. the paint is chipping and it's less then a year old and no I don't wear a watch it just started doing this before it got cold and I put it away..

no problems with my 06. I have the G-85, XM, Omstar, Side curtain air-bags. I've gone on a few trips longer than 500 miles. (have 5500 since 11 Nov) It drives as great as the day I got it.

I've added a Injen intake, the GMPP performance exhaust and a DC strut bar. Soon to have the GMPP extruded/honed exhaust manifold and Eibach sportline springs installed. The dealer is going to install my springs
