So last week I took my car to the track for the first time. My only mod is an Injen CAI. Pretty cold night for April, like 40's, 50's, and windy. Bad traction, and I was running consistend 14.6's with 2.3 60's at like 97-98mph. However, during one of my runs, I was in second gear slightly over 5,000rpms and the car like bucked. Almost as if I hit the rev limiter (which I did a few times going down), but then it caught back up and kept going in second until I actually hit the rev limiter. My car has only 6k miles on it...just curious to see if anyone knows what this might be. Thanks.

 

you may have hit a track midget...be careful, they're everywhere out there...

one of my friends mentioned something about the timing jumping on the car? or perhaps an injector that clogged up for a millisecond?

i think my car has done the same thing a couple of times, once when i was going on to a highway ramp and then i floored it and somewhere towards 4k rpm it just like lost power for a sec and then started going again, it's done it about 2-3 times.

p.s. my car is stock

 

It's happend about 3 times as well. It's a general issue that a lot of us experience. It's never really been fully diagnosed either.

 

Why do I remember seeing a video of a redline on these forums that showed the tac during a run doing just that...I'll have to search through the threads to see if I can find it back but I think it was a while ago.

 

i've had that happen with my 2.2 auto. in fact it happened last night as i was running pizzas. it wasnt the first time its done that. could this be an issue with the ecotec itself or some type of computer mishap?

 

What track in NJ did u go to btw?

went to Island dragway in Hackettstown. Horrible track preparation. From now on I'm going to Englishtown.
