For 2 weeks or so now I have been getting a rattling sound from the front driver side of my LS cobalt. It is starting to drive me nuts. You hear it the most when going slow over bumps but can also here it at higher speeds. I can also feel the rattle under my feet. i though it was my exaust bouncing around but after getting under the car an inspecting I suspect it is coming from the side axle or the strut.

I can reproduce the sound by lifting the car up but not when pushing down. Also there is a little end play in the side axle which makes a similar noise, but the other side also has the same amount of end play but no noise comes from that side when driving or rocking the car. So I am calling it a bad strut, can anyone else confirm this?

Oh yeah, their is no signs of a leaky strut either, and strut mount bolts are tight.
