Greetings. I was wondering if anyone can tell me when their rev limiter kicks in at? I am about to hit the 1k mark on my 06 and have finally been getting on it. At about 6400 rpm it just kind of dies and I am hoping that it is the rev limiter. Any thoughts? Thanks

 

stock rev limiter is set to 6500

 

Yes without any tuning are cars are limited stock to 6500 rpm's.
Stage two will bump it up to 7000 rpm's. I believe 7400 rpm's is when the valves start to float on stock valvetrain.

 

It probably looked like you hit it at 6400, but it was actually 6500. The gauge isn't very acurate when you're getting on it. After I installed my shift light I noticed it hit 7k a sec before the gauge did.

 

Thanks. Glad to know that I don't have some oddball problem. It is just a bit confusing since the red line is around the 7 k area. Wishful thinking on some engineers part.

 

You should be able to hear it when you bounce on the rev limiter.
