Ring around sunroof switch finally fell off
So the ring around my sunroof switch just fell off yesterday after about 20k miles. I know I have read on here before about people having problems with this ring (I tried searching and couldn't find the old posts). I just can't get it to stay on now, every time I push it back on it has a gap at one corner and if i bump it wrong it just falls off. How can I fix this or is this something that i need to take to the dealership?

I have had mine replaced 4 times now.... what does that tell you about how well they thought out the design. The problem is that the bracket the bezel snaps into is made out of thin metal and once it gets bent out of shape the bezel will not stay in place anymore. I have been trying to come up with something to put behind the bracket to brace it so it won't get bent anymore but I haven't been able to come up with anything as of yet.

Mine fell off the first week i had it, the little tabs on the plastic broke. i had to wait about a week for the dealer to get it ordered and then i had to wait an hour at the dealership for them to put it in, lol.

Same thing just happened to mine. The plastic tabs broke. I was able to crazy glue the tabs back on and get the bezel to snap back in there. But I have a feeling it's not going to last. Every now and then the sunroof switch will dislodge and get crooked. So I have to get under the headliner and take the bezel off. These sunroof suck.

Don't fiddle with that stupid part. I have had several customers try to glue it or bend the tabs - and this only makes it worse. Take it to the dealer and let them replace it. - We had a G5 customer bugger up the switch and his sunroof got stuck open - on a rainy day of course. - This is clearly a GM 'nickel&dime' cost cutting part, and the replacements are the same as OEM with no improvment. - The only good soloution once it has fallen off is to replace.

Exactly. So why bother? Unless they make a better part for it, it's just going to keep falling off. And who has time to keep running back and forth to the dealer? I know I don't.
