I have a 2006 Chevy Cobalt and it has been idling pretty rough and the engine has been making this weird grumbling noise when I am stopped at a light. I changed out my plugs and put in some after market plugs and the the engine does have more power now but it still has the same grumble. I took it to the dealer and come to find out I need to change out the coil pack and the boots that go over the plugs. The dealer was going to charge me 700 dollars to fix it but I can do it on my own for just about 200.00. If anyone has any questions about this post please don't hesitate and let me know how I can help.
mine just starting doing this for a few i got the engine power reduced then i turned the car off and started it again then nothing but i do have a check engine light im hoping its just a plug fouled out. i literally just put new injectors in today everything was clean. it sounds like a wrx for real though. and if i barelt even get on the gas it sounds like a lawn mower with a really bad miss. this **** has got me freaked out i have never seen a car do this before. i drive a 2005 ss/sc btw. also i just got my computer back from ott from getting tuned it didnt do it before then i start it up and it did it i drove it to the parts store to get the codes read and my obd-2 wont read. due to a shitty radio install place. it ran fine until i got the computer back and put it in.
any suggestions
quick side note when i got back from the parts place the dip stick was poped out...not good but there is no water in the oil so i am really hoping its not a set of rings

i have an exhaust leak coming from under the hood it looks like flexible hose or an accordian but it hooks up to the catillitic converter. and ideas on how to just patch the hole instead of having to replace the cat converter
Off topic but ... take that in to a dealer and they will replace it . The warranty on that part is 8years 80K miles and i think they just extended that even more.
Hey Bro you might want to check your coil pack. I took my car to the dealer and they told me that my coil pack and boots were all bad. I dont know what year yours is but if you have an 05 or 06 changing your coil pack is easy. My name is Jared let me know if you have any questions.
