rpms

my car will pic up speed and idle high when i take foot off gas.like when im at a stop sigh and give it some gas then take gas off the car will be over 1000rpms and it will pick up speed for blocks

any check engine light? that could be caused by a number of things....

vacuum leak
IAC stuck/carboned up
throttle plate not closing all the way

no check engine light

mine will do that every once in awhile for like 2 days then go back to normal. has it been like that for awhile?
