RPM's going up?

Alright so I had this problem since the car was new but it doesn't seem to be getting any better..

Does our cars have electronic throttle? cause it sure acts crazy on me..

For example, let's say I'm in the traffic, slow speed in 2nd, then abrupt stop, put the clutch in, I'm stopped. I can put it in neutral or leave it like that but most of the time the RPM's won't go back to idle, they'll move up to 1200-1500 RPM sometimes even more..

I'm always like wtf sometimes it goes even to 2000RPM without any reason, it happens quite often too.

It's even worse when going downhill, my commute has a hill I'm going down everyday in traffic so I do it in neutral, no gear engaged and sure enough everytime I let go the brakes the RPM's go up!

I'm sure if I had enough time I could redline the ******* thing just going downhill. It goes up more and more as I gather more speed.

The only way to stop that is to pop in the clutch in or put the brakes a bit hard so the car seems to understand that I'm stopped..

it might be an electronic feature to help you not stall or something but I find it darn annoying.

Do you guys experience this too? I think I might need a reflash or something

i heard of the rpms jumping up and down when u push the clutch in but not gaining rpms with speed. i dunno? best bet is to take it in and get it looked at.

Yes ,we have an electronic "fly by wire" throttle.Sounds like it is hanging up and not returning to zero value.Or I could be wrong.

I can't speak for the N/A cars, but I know mine does it. It'll slightly increase revs as you approach a stop in neutral with the clutch out, my best theory is that it is something designed by GM to help make for smoother shifts, using the electric throttle. If you brake smoothly, you'll see it high until you get to about 2 mph and stop, then it falls back to regular idle level. Maybe there are some differences with the SS/SC versus the others if yours is hitting 2K, but the concept is the same.
