Rubber burning smell

Once in a while outside of my car I smell burnt rubber, I don't spin my tires or anything, what could it be?

Slow down when having sex son. You need to be able to enjoy it too.

Sorry, saw the title of the thread and couldn't resist.

Just read you post. I see you have aftermarket springs. Did you install them properly? Not rubbing in the wheelwell are you? Slipping your clutch too much? Riding your brakes? Parking brake left accidentally? Hose too close to something it shouldn't be? Belt okay? Fuel line not too close to exhaust? We need more info in order to help you out.

No it's not that low at all... it has plenty of space in between the tires so there is no rubbing at all.

I don't ride my clutch at all and I don't think it smells like rubber anyway..

Strange question but could it also be the smell of burning plastic? I had a plastic grocery bag stuck on the Cat on my LS and it let off one hell of a smell whenever it got hot. I couldn't decide if it was rubber or plastic at the time but sure enough when it went on the lift there it was sitting (and severely melted) on the cat. It eventually burned itself off but I thought it was going to take an eternity.

Right, just thought I'd point it out in case it's a one off and I don't know how many people actually think to check it. I thought the worst at first but I also couldn't see the damned thing because of where it was located when my LS started smelling like a smoke show .

It's once in a while though so I can't just take it to the shop because I don't know when it will smell and when it won't haha

Ya i would check your gaskets, the heat escaping could be causing something to burn or melt in your engine bay or your under side. This is just something to check for cause it happend to me awhile back.

Check the serpentine belt on the motor , there might be some alignment issue's or a bad belt. I've seen some cars that have had rubber stuck to the underside of the hood from it shedding off the belt.
