Running lean, new MAF sensor
Running lean, new MAF sensor
Hello, I just recently replaced my Mass AirFlow sensor in my 2006 ss/sc. after I replaced it the car started running find and no more bogging down or choking out. However, after I replaced it and cleared the code, the check engine light came back on so I checked the code and it tells me I'm still running lean. I disconnected my battery to reset the computer but the code came back again. I'm also noticing a little lag on the supercharger which is weird. Any idea as to why it's doing this? Let me know! Thanks!
First things first, why die you replace the maf? When you replaced it did you replace the maf to intake.seal? Did you start throwing the p0171 after maf replacement? If so look for some type of intake leak. If none, look for a vacuum leak within engine bay. If goodd look at exhaust for leak. If none, I'd say depending on miss your ecm maf calibrations.are.fsr off.
Somthing else to look at is the ic pump. If your Iat2s get to hot it'll Skew fuel trims to read lean, and cause that cel.

As far as the code that it is throwing, I just used an O'Reilly's scanner and it told me that it was just running lean and that's it. The old code used to be the maf sensor but that cleared with the new one.
Got mine from a Chevy dealership.

aftermarket and the piping seems fine. one of the screws that holds the sensor in was corroded so i'm thinkin maybe since only one screw is holding it in that maybe the gasket for the sensor isn't 100% sealed.
Bought an OEM sensor for aftermarket Injen cold air. One of the screws broke for the sensor though so I'm thinking maybe the gasket on the sensor isn't 100% sealed. But I also had to take the filter off to get the pipe out so maybe I didn't put that back on perfect either? I'm going to check all of the things soon.

I'm having the same problem with my 09 Cobalt SS my mass air flow sensor has been replaced 6 times and Regional Part my engine light is on and I get a code of p0101 I do not have no vacuum leaks also all my charge pipes and all the other piping is nice and tight no cracks my car does not shut off it just runs really lean and it's in Limp mode[/QUOTE]
I just got my car looked at and they are saying its my steering angle and position sensor the code is c0640

P0101 is almost always a boost leak, build a boost leak tester pressurize the system and see if it leaks (take soapy water to all the connections). If you have no boost leak then start chasing the wires from the maf connection harness to the ecu looking for worn spots or broken sections.
A c0640 check engine code? never heard of that before
Ok, an 09 SS is not an LSJ, its an LNF.

I have a issue with a new MAF throwing CEL after putting injen cold air and turbo piping in. MaF been changed twice and CEL comes on after second start up. Have to have emission testi g to register car and need help!
