Security Light HELP!!

2005 2.2 LS started having issues when starting. It was very touch and go one moment it would start the next it wouldn't. Took it to a garage turned out it had an aftermarket remote start (I never knew) the wires were messed up so the mechanic removed it. It started. Drove it to walmart went in came out same thing. Didn't start. A friend tested the battery it wasn't charging correctly deemed the battery bad. Got a new battery ... it started. Drove it home same **** AGAIN wouldn't start. Just click click. Tapped the starter and it started every time. Changed the starter started drove parked it and AGAIN nothing. No click no nothing. Replaced the ignition switch and still nothing. The security light is staying on. I tried the put the key in and turn it to the on position for 10 minutes to reset the security light finally blinked out and nothing light came right back on. Tried unhooking the battery and again nothing. No sounds nothing all the electronics come on but the car doesn't even click since changing the starter and her taking it home.
This is my 67 year old mothers car and I swear I'm at a loss. Help please she needs her car.

Update: Tried the wait 10 minutes for the light to go off turn off for 30 seconds x3 it didn't work.
