Service Air Bag
Service Air Bag
I'm getting the service airbag message. It started after I took off the airbag to fix a dent in the emblem on the airbag cover. I had to remove the cover to do this. I didn't damage the airbag while doing this...it was fairly easy and straight forward. Put the airbag back on and got the "service airbag soon" message. Took it to the dealer and they pulled up code B0012. They said it was the SIR coil (Clock Spring) and wanted to charge me 225 for labor. I bought the part and easily installed it in about 45 minutes, but I'm still getting the message. Could it be the airbag itself? Odd that it would be bad just from taking the airbag cover off and putting it back on.
Not sure what else it could be in my case. All I did was remove the airbag, take the cover off the airbag, fix the emblem dent and put it back on. I'm guessing there could have been some electrostatic discharge that fried something in the airbag unit.
there are 2 plastic clip things you have to remove in order to get the yellow wire things off the physical airbag.
did you put them back in.
because i took off my air bag and tried to take the steering wheel off (had no luck) and i got the airbag light. it was because i didnt put those clear plastic clips back in
