shift cable broken and LOUD noise upon start up
shift cable broken and LOUD noise upon start up
Hey everyone,
Let me start by saying that I have an 09 ss/tc coupe with 1500 miles.
It has had warrenty work since day one. Driver's Apillar tab bent causing it to have a large gap btw the headliner and pillar. Also gauge was crooked by about 45 degrees. The driver's doorpanel had a huge whit scuff under the pastic covering when new from factory, front bumper has a 1/4 gap between it and the driver's head light assy. Door panel and a pillar have been replaced as of yesterday. But they said they cannot do anything about the gap. I also had the dealer check the front brembos for that aweful squeakkkkkkkk at almost a dead stop and they said its normal.
After returning home yesterday from the dealer I parked for about 4 hours at my house and then had to run out again. I started the car and heard a loud wurrrrring noise like a spun bearing, this happens from time to time only after the car sits for a couple of hours or over night. I believe it is the VVT actuator draining of all its oil and then spinning dry upon start up and then it gets oil pressure and works fine. I used to be a mechanic at a mazda dealer and ford makes mazda. This motor looks identical to the disi motor in the speed3,6 and the cx7. They had a TSB for this same noise and it was an updated VVT actuator. I told the dealer and they said they didn't hear it at the time of service. The car sat outside for an hour while they did the paper work and I had the manager come out with me just incase it did it again. And it DID! He said they all do it. Does that make it ok or normal for metal to metal no oil interference? This actuator controls your advance and retard based on oil pressure and if there is no oil in it then that's a problem.
Anyone else ever heard this noise? Or tell ur dealer?
Also while backing out of the driveway I put the car in reverse, or tried to. And while doing so I heard a crunch and the shift felt limp. I looked at the shift cable by the tranny bracket and the cable broke. 1500 miles and a NEW cable literaly comes a part!!!
Car is on a dflatbed to the dealer as we speak with 1500 miles and broken parts.
I believe I got an UAW special folks! No wonder gm is bankrupt, union is overcharging to do sh*tty work!
