shift linkage won't work when very cold

2009 SS
Anyonelse have this problem? I have to let it warm up for 1/2 hour when it is below zero. Car is not garaged. The shiftlever won't move laterally it will move up and down until the cab warms up. It shifts perfect when warmed up inside cab or above 0 F outside.

Pretty normal when it's 0. The transmission fluid is probably as thick as molasses.

Might want to check that the two cables still have the seals at the end near the transmission and aren't getting water in them and freezing.

Yup, happens to me every morning. Some people have advised switching transmission fluid but I have just chosen to deal with it on the handful of below zero days a year.

lol a lot or euro cars have issues like these. I warmed up an old jaguar that would not move until the trans fluid got warm.... keep in mind our transmissions are not made in usa.

It's normal for me on cold enough days. I just double clutch like Dom told me to until the engine temperature gets close to operating temperature.
