Short Throw Shifter cause problems?
Short Throw Shifter cause problems?
I did a search and couldn't find the answer I was looking for. I understand the whole thing about the synchros and that the shifter doesnt wear them out, shifting hard and fast does. I just want to know does as STS put extra stress on the shifter cables. I thought I saw somebody say it does but havent heard anything else.
Load on the cables will be the same with a short throw or the stock shifter.
Problem comes because people put sts's on so they can SHIFT FASTER. Kind of the whole point of a short throw, right
As you note yourself, it's the hard fast shifts that do in the synchros, and likely the cables as well.
