dont know if that will work for yall or not. but went to go drop off the xbox I had for sell to Beamer, pull up and hear the most god awful noise from under my hood. pop the hood and theres a metallic grinding sort of sound from the drivers side of the engine bay. Beamer mentioned the timing chain and to be honest it sounds just like a chain thats loose. so now I get to have thia fixed or do it myself. whichever is cheaper and most effective lol.

well I do care I just still have to work lol. its no bueno to leave my wife stuck here at home with 2 kids and no car if I take hers. which I may have to do regardless.
But yes stop driving the car. Tell your wife, this is a cheap fix, if you keep driving it, its gonna be a spendy one.
If you really had to you could drive with here to work and she has the car all day then has to pick you up at the end of the day (although may not work out if your work is far away).
I think what you first need to decide is what the exact issue is. A belt and tensioner is cheap enough that replacing them regardless of whether or not they're the problem is good insurance in your vehicle. Another aspect you need to think about is the difficulty of installation. If you're mechanically inclined you can tackle the job, I've been wrenching for the last 15 years, the only thing I won't touch is the inside if a transmission anymore. Another big thing is do you have the time. If you've got all these things just go for it. But surely suggest not driving it especially if it is In fact your timing chain. If it's a chain that snaps you've got more trouble than just replacing a worn out chain.....
